If you read my last post, you will know we are doing a Presidential Guard impression here. My little friend, Audrey, from Paris is really good at it.

This is the Lion Gate at The Mycenae Citadel, which was built from 16C to 12C BC. Unfortunately the heads of the lions were missing, but everything else was kept intact. You can see the gate was made of three stones only, each of the stone weights about over two tons. I can’t imagine how they got the stones this far on top of the mountain.

This Bourtzi (Nafplio) castle built in the middle of the harbor in Nafplio miles away from the closest shore is such a spectacular structure. It’s built in 1473 to protect the city from pirates and invaders. It’s used as a site for hosting music festivals today.

  1. Oh just to much fun! In the picture of the 3000 year old gate what was the name of the site and were those depictions at the top lions or man ? p.s. your outfits flow beautifully in every scene.
