Nobody likes to deal with the complicated process of going through security check in the airport, but you just have to deal with it in the smartest way. I usually choose most comfortable clothing with minimum accessories. The top and the skirt are both very comfortable, and the low-heal slip-ons can be removed in a matter of seconds.

  48. I like the formula, but Im on the wagon for altitude tweaking. Id like to see how that might factor in, lest anyone forget that Hardrock takes you up over 14,000 above sea level, and average elevation is way up there as well. Even for someone who lives at elevation (6000 feet here), getting up that high turns some serious screws on the difficulty factor.

  50. I can relate! After a few 3:50s and even a 3:45 I tricked myself I into thinking I could just wing it (with only a 15 miler as my long run)at London last week and still get in under 4 hours. So wrong. I ran a big slow 4:23. During the last weeks of training and again at mile 18, I was reminded again of how and why I hate marathons for all the reasons you mentioned. Plus London is so crowded now its impossible to pace correctly. This was my 7th. And last. 5 and 10Ks from now on.You did much better than I did. Great write-up, too.
